Saving the Neighborhood, or Giving Up

Excellent article by a family who lived in Detroit and tried hard to save their neighborhood but in the end moved out.

It is very difficult to turn a very poor neighborhood or community around. My admiration and gratitude for those people who do stay and fight to save a neighborhood. But I also understand why some people give up.
